dc.descriptionType 2 Diabetes mellitus is a chronic, degenerative disease caused by different etiologies, characterized by insufficient insulin production accompanied by insulin resistance. On the other hand, overweight is the increase in body weight caused by excessive accumulation of fat this represents a significant risk to the health of people who suffer from it. The present work describes the clinical case of a 53-year-old female patient treated in the emergency room of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro General Hospital for presenting general malaise, asthenia, hyporexia and headache, so she self-medicated analgesic, when she does not find improvement she goes to this health home. Patient with a history of diabetes mellitus the same that indicates not to adequately avail himself of the medical or nutritional treatment and capillary glycemia is performed the same that reports high values, when evaluated by the Treater of Internal Medicine decides the admission for monitoring and control of part of the area of Internal Medicine and to carry out interconsultation to the area of Nutrition and dietetics. The area of Nutrition and Dietetics proceeds to perform the nutritional assessment and review laboratory tests the results reveal overweight and some biochemical alterations secondary to type two diabetes mellitus, eating disorders and lack of physical activity. Through the process of comprehensive nutritional care, the desired results were obtained, the eating plan which helped to reduce the values of blood glucose, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and weight.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 es una enfermedad Crónica, degenerativa, causada por diferentes etiologías, caracterizada por una producción insuficiente de insulina acompañada de resistencia a la insulina. Por otro lado, el Sobrepeso es el aumento del peso corporal causado por la acumulación excesiva de grasa esto representa un riesgo significativo para la salud de las personas que la padecen. En el presente trabajo se describe el caso clínico de una paciente femenina de 53 años de edad atendida en urgencias del hospital General Alfredo Noboa Montenegro por presentar malestar general, astenia, hiporexia y cefalea por lo que se auto médica analgésico, al no encontrar mejoría acude a esta casa de salud. Paciente con antecedentes de diabetes mellitus la misma que indica no acogerse adecuadamente al tratamiento médico ni nutricional y se realiza glicemia capilar la misma que reporta valores elevados, al ser valorada por el tratante de medicina Interna decide el ingreso para monitoreo y control de parte del área de medicina Interna y realizar interconsulta al área de Nutrición y dietética. El área de Nutrición y Dietética procede a realizar la valoración nutricional y revisar exámenes de laboratorio los resultados revelan sobrepeso y algunas alteraciones bioquímicas secundarias a la diabetes mellitus tipo 2, a los desórdenes en su alimentación y falta de actividad física. Mediante el proceso de atención nutricional integral se obtuvieron los resultados Deseados, El plan de alimentación la que ayudó a disminuir los valores de glucosa sanguínea, de colesterol total, colesterol LDL, triglicéridos y el peso.es_ES
