dc.description | The present case study, whose etiology is congestive heart failure, is considered one of the most frequent causes of cardiovascular death and hospitalization in the case of older adults. The general population that suffers from CHF by modifying their lifestyles which include, (diet, physical activity and pharmacological treatment) reduce the risks of triggering another type of complication of the disease itself; According to a scientific study carried out by the American Heart Association in 2017, it reveals that the risk factors increase the development of this disease are, Arterial Hypertension, Obesity, Diabetes, a history of heart disease, hyperthyroidism, smoking, alcohol consumption among others. In the current clinical case, the description of nutritional management can be observed in a 60-year-old adult male patient who has caused congestive heart failure and high body weight, related to personal pathologies, for which a nutritional plan was proposed individualized according to age, caloric requirements and pathological condition of the patient. A hypoodic, hypocaloric diet was provided with the macronutrient percentage distribution of 60% carbohydrates, 15% proteins and 25% lipids with a fluid restriction of 500 cc due to the edema that was observed in the clinical examination. Through the follow-ups that the patient was carried out, his nutritional status was improved, his laboratory tests were normalized as well as his blood pressure. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
