dc.description | Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) causes chronic inflammatory lung deterioration that causes a decrease in the normal flow of air in the lungs. The main symptoms are: shortness of breath, throat clearing, sputum, and wheezing. The main cause is exposure for long periods to irritating gases and from inhaling cigarette smoke, as well as their consumption. The exacerbation of COPD is a serious episode, where the symptoms increase, usually when changing the medication the symptoms disappear. Complications such as deterioration of lung function, greater progression of the disease, and increased morbidity and mortality may appear. The best way to diagnose it is through pulmonary function tests, spirometry, and chest x-ray. Treatment against this difficulty is very important to avoid various complications, which limit daily activities to those who suffer from it due to breathing difficulties, due to the limited lung function, another complication that a person with this pathology can develop is to develop lung cancer in the future. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
