dc.description | Visual health care is of special importance, each technological advance contributes to a better diagnosis and subsequent treatment. Currently there are diseases that simulate some symptoms of ocular pathologies. Among these we can mention celiac disease, whose manifestation often goes unnoticed, although its causes are unknown, its symptoms can manifest in various ways, recent studies reveal a relationship between celiac disease and the visual organ. The present case study deals with a 25-year-old patient with a previous diagnosis of celiac disease, who attends the consultation due to symptoms of headache, itching, blurred vision, symptoms very similar to allergic conjunctivitis syndrome. To identify the causes of this symptomatology, visual acuity, fundus, pachymetry and retinoscopy tests were performed. The patient shows an allergic conjunctivitis and keratoconus. Treatment consisting of antihistamines and rigid gas permeable contact lenses is prescribed. With the use of lenses an improvement of 70% has been achieved. | es_ES |
