Catarata is the loss of transparency or opacity that occurs in the lens, patients who undergo surgery in the preoperative and postoperative period develop refractive disorders, any of them can develop, however, there is one that predominates, such as astigmatism . The patient in this clinical case is 51 years old, the patient has a personal history: diabetes, and a family history: a mother and brother who died due to a complication of diabetes. refers to progressive visual acuity loss and blurred near vision. The methodology that was applied is theoretical-practical. The patient's history and the necessary data and studies are available. The physical-performed examinations are: AVsc, AVcc, biomicroscopy, Rx. In conclusion, in this case the patient undergoes optometric check-ups to determine which refractive defect he is suffering from.es_ES
