Community-acquired pneumonia is a potentially serious disease, becoming a major health problem worldwide, as it is one of the most frequent respiratory conditions in our environment, with high morbidity and mortality in the elderly and in patients with significant comorbidity associate (Arancibia F., 2011). COVID-19 is a disease caused by a new β-coronavirus (2019CoV) belonging to the Coronaviridae family. COVID-19 is a disease caused by a virus. These viruses are called coronavirus because the electron microscope shows external protein projections in the form of a mass that give the viral particle a corona-like appearance. (Rodríguez, 2020). The objective of this clinical case is to apply the nursing care process to a patient diagnosed with pneumonia due to the covid-19 virus, hospitalized in the emergency area of the IESS QUEVEDO GENERAL HOSPITAL. Through this case, it was possible to conclude that the nursing care process is essential for recovery, medical treatment, and nursing interventions, and thus provide quality and warm care to patients with COVID-19 pneumonia.es_ES
