Gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the mucosa of the digestive tract, mainly causing fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. Diarrhoea is defined as an increase in the amount or volume of faeces, or a decrease in stool fluidity associated with an individual's previous gastrointestinal habits, if the duration is less than 3 or 4 weeks is called acute, and chronic if their period is longer than the time mentioned. The nursing process is a very important tool for nurses, as it allows determining basic needs, correct, maintaining and recovering patients through theoretical and practical knowledge. The study presented writes to a paediatric patient who comes in the company of du progenitora for having colic-like abdominal pain, vomiting on 4 occasions, un quantified fever and diarrhoea in 7 days of evolution, post-anamnesis, physical examination and obtaining laboratory studies viral gastroenteritis by rotavirus was diagnosed, during pediatric hospitalization the needs and requirements of the patient's health was identified for this was essential the application of the process of care aligned to Marjorie Gordon's model, NANDA, NOC, NIC literatures were also used respectively, with this being diagnosed, care was planned and the results obtained were evaluated, which concluded with the recovery of the health status of the paediatrices_ES
