dc.description | Hypovolemic shock is a serious complication of postpartum hemorrhage that increases maternal morbidity and mortality both globally and locally, which is why it is considered one of the main public health problems, in 2019, there were 123 deaths that represent a maternal mortality ratio of 37.0 per 100,000 live births. Reason why the writing of this report is motivated based on the case of a 29-year-old patient with a 37.3-week pregnancy who went to the Hospital Sagrado Corazón de Jesús for delivery care that was complicated by placental retention and arrived a Hypovolemic Shock. This study is based on the descriptive, observational, qualitative and clinical method, in order to analyze the different predisposing factors which led to a pathological delivery. It is concluded that these factors, such as a history of placental retention in previous deliveries, multiparity, insufficient controls and added pathologies lead to the aforementioned complications. It is recommended during the anamnesis to consult relevant data regarding the previous delivery, in addition to studying the cases related to the main causes of postpartum hemorrhage at the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús hospital, since obstetric hemorrhage is the main cause of maternal death and The hospital unit does not have a blood bank, in addition to the optimal training of the professional in order to maintain an active obstetric behavior, timely and according to the case. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
