At the end of December 2019, a series of cases of atypical pneumonia were reported in Wuhan, China, where the etiological agent was identified as a new SARS-CoV-2, called Covid-19. Due to the accelerating number of infections and deaths around the world, the infection of this virus quickly went from being an isolated outbreak in a Chinese region to becoming a health emergency of international concern, and later into a pandemic. (R. Mojica, 2020). The MSP, in coordination with the WHO, has worked on monitoring the disease since the global alert was issued. On 02/29/2020, the first case of this disease was confirmed in Ecuador. The National COE was activated for the coordination of the emergency, and on 03/11/2020 the WHO declared the COVID-19 global pandemic, therefore, through Ministerial Agreement No 00126-2020 issued on March 11 by the Minister of Health, the State of Health Emergency is declared in the National Health System. (Informe de Situación COVID-19 Ecuador , 2020). Therefore, given the needs to attend the health emergency due to covid, and given the problem of the collapse of certain health units in the country, and the deficit of nursing homes, the government in conjunction with the MSP, had 31 hospitals specifically to attend cases of covid19, taking as a measure the supply of these health houses, with the necessary equipment for the care of said emergency in each locality due to the sanitary measures taken in each city. (Emergencias, 2020). Severe preeclampsia is considered one of the main obstetric complications of pregnancy that increases both maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Such is the clinical case of a 34-year-old patient, with 38 SG, who comes to the emergency room with photopsy, nausea, blood pressure 160/110 mmHg, and also self-refers insufficient prenatal check-ups.es_ES
