Ciclaje de nutrientes en áreas cultivadas con arroz en rotación con soya bajo el sistema de siembra directa, en Los Ríos
Abstract
El cultivo de arroz (Oryza sativa) merece ser destacado por ser uno de los cereales más consumido en el mundo, además contribuye con el 20 % de calorías. Se estima que para el 2030 la demanda de consumidores será aproximadamente 5 billones, la misma que tiene que ser satisfecha a partir de recursos naturales no renovables, como suelo y agua. Sin embargo, los suelos propicios para el cultivo de arroz son caracterizados por tener bajo contenido de materia orgánica y estar expuestos a la degradación. No obstante, en la actualidad se están adaptando técnicas de manejo de suelo que mejoren su calidad, que reduzca el impacto ambiental y que maximicen la productividad del cultivo de arroz. Ante lo expuesto, el siguiente trabajo bibliográfico tuvo como objetivo demostrar el efecto del ciclaje de nutrientes sobre la calidad de los suelos dedicados a la producción de arroz en rotación con soya, en sistema de siembra directa. Así, se determinó que mantener los residuos de cosecha en la superficie del suelo, contribuye en la acumulación carbono orgánico en el horizonte superficial y de nutrientes. Además de mejorar los atributos físico-químico del suelo a mediano plazo.
