dc.descriptionThe present study in a clinical case of a 75-year-old retired male patient with 4 children, domiciled in the city of Babahoyo with a family history, father with type 2 diabetes mellitus and mother with osteoporosis, surgical history 7 years ago. performed an appendectomy, allergy does not refer, active smoking habit. He goes to the consultation for presenting the following clinical picture increase in food intake, blurred vision, fatigue, dizziness and increased frequency when urinating, he also reports that for 3 months he has been presenting pain at the level of his waist which has increased his pain in the last days. Due to his clinical picture, complementary tests were carried out which showed abnormal values in his glycemia, cholesterol and triglycerides, an X-ray was also performed in his pelvis where osteodegenerative changes could be evidenced at the level of the pelvic belt, for which he was referred to the nutritionist for your immediate intervention. The patient was prescribed a nutritional treatment in order to improve her nutritional status, a follow-up was carried out one month after returning to the consultation in which the nutritional objectives could be met, noting normal values in her glycemia. When the patient sees improvement in his health condition, he decides to continue with the treatment in order to avoid complications.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio es un caso clínico de un paciente de sexo masculino de 75 años de edad jubilado, con 4 hijos, domiciliado en la ciudad de Babahoyo con antecedentes familiares padre con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y madre con osteoporosis, antecedentes quirúrgicos hace 7 años le realizaron una apendicetomía, alergia no refiere, habito fumador activo. Acude a consulta por presentar el siguiente cuadro clínico aumento en la ingesta de alimentos, visión borrosa, fatiga, mareos y aumento de la frecuencia al orinar además refiere que desde hace 3 meses viene presenta un dolor a nivel de la su cintura el cual ha aumentado su dolor en los últimos días. Por su cuadro clínico se procedió a realizarle exámenes complementarios los cuales arrojaron valores anormales en su glicemia colesterol y triglicéridos, también se realizó una radiografía en su pelvis donde se pudo evidenciar cambios osteodegenerativos a nivel del cinturón pélvico, por lo que fue derivado al nutricionista para su intervención inmediata. A la paciente se le prescribió un tratamiento nutricional con el fin mejorar su estado nutricional, se le realizó un seguimiento al mes de volver a consulta en el cual se pudo cumplir con los objetivos nutricionales notando valores normales en su glicemia. El paciente al ver mejoría en su condición de salud decide continuar con el tratamiento con el fin de evitar complicaciones.es_ES
