dc.descriptionPolycystic ovary syndrome is an alteration not only of endocrinological type but also metabolic, which manifests with clinical characteristics of hyperandrogenism, anovulation, polycystic ovaries, overweight or obesity and insulin resistance. The goal of this clinical case is to decrease the insulin resistance of the female patient, aged 22 who has polycystic ovary syndrome through a therapeutic dietary action plan. This case study is based on a patient diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, to whom nutritional assessment is applied and diagnosed overweight and some biochemical and clinical alterations regarding insulin resistance. Through the nutritional care process very good results were obtained, the diet had a very good acceptance by the patient, which helped in large part to achieve the general objective of this case. It is concluded that an adequate and well-established nutritional plan is of vital importance for the prevention of many chronic noncommunicable diseases, it is clear that early nutritional intervention helps to correct several metabolic alterations.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl síndrome de ovario poliquístico es una alteración no solo de tipo endocrinológica si no también metabólica, que se manifiesta con características clínicas de hiperandrogenismo, anovulación, ovarios poliquísticos, sobrepeso u obesidad y resistencia a la insulina. El objetivo de este caso clínico es disminuir la resistencia a la insulina del paciente de sexo femenino de 22 años de edad que presenta síndrome de ovario poliquístico mediante un plan de acción dieto terapéutico. El presente estudio de caso está realizado en base a una paciente con diagnóstico de síndrome de ovario poliquístico, a la cual se le aplica la evaluación nutricional y se diagnostica sobrepeso y algunas alteraciones bioquímicas y clínicas referentes a resistencia a la insulina. Mediante el proceso de atención nutricional se obtuvieron muy buenos resultados, la dieta tuvo una muy buena aceptación por parte de la paciente, lo que ayudó en gran parte a lograr el objetivo general de este caso. Se concluye que un plan nutricional adecuado y bien establecido es de vital importancia para la prevención de muchas enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, se da por evidenciado que la intervención nutricional temprana ayuda a corregir varias alteraciones metabólicas.es_ES
