The clinical case presented below is intended to inform all people about the great importance of pregnancy in people with intellectual disabilities, since intellectual disability affects cognitive and adaptive development. Pre-eclampsia is a pathology typical of pregnancy, it constitutes a great public health problem and one of the main causes of maternal-neonatal mortality and complications such as cardiovascular, liver and kidney. Preeclampsia is defined as the presence of pregnancy-induced hypertension with diastolic blood pressure (DAD) greater than or equal to 90 mmHg and / or systolic blood pressure (SAT) greater than or equal to 140 mm Hg, in other cases it will be defined by a an increase of 30 mmHg or more in the SAT or of 15 mmHg or more in the usual DOT, all this associated with proteinuria and sometimes edema or target organ damage (Center, 2017). For this reason, a clinical case of a 24-year-old female patient with a medical diagnosis of intellectual disability was studied, 43% plus a pregnancy of 35.6 weeks of gestation, plus pre-eclampsia, who came for an emergency accompanied by a family member and a health team. Referral from Valencia Health Center. Through the analysis, the health problem of the patient was identified in order to improve medical and nursing management, which must be timely, based on a comprehensive assessment that ensures the maternal-fetal well-being, in such a way that they know the risk factors that can give rise to these pathologies and their possible complications.es_ES
