| dc.description | The melon is a cucurbit that is rarely planted in Ecuador, this crop is carried out more in summer, in winter it is not done because due to the rains, puddles are formed and therefore it opened more presence of the disease since the conditions are favorable for the fungus develops, its dissemination would be faster so its chemical control would be shortened because the fungus acts faster. Mildew is one of the diseases that affects melon crops. Currently, a large part of the production is lost due to the fact that this disease advances in a vertiginous way, its dissemination or dispersion is carried out by means of the wind or sheets of water, affecting the crop. The most common measures that are taken is to avoid puddles or sheets of water in the crop, the humidity largely favors this disease. The application of chemical products helps to eradicate this disease, as long as they are applied at the right time, the presence of mildew can be observed that basically affects the leaves of the plant, interrupting its photosynthetic process. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El melón es una cucurbitácea poco sembrada en Ecuador, este cultivo se realiza más en verano, en invierno no se lo realiza porque debido a las lluvias se forman los encharcamientos y por ende abría más presencia de la enfermedad ya que las condiciones son propicias para que se desarrolle el hongo, su diseminación sería más rápida por lo que su control químico se acortaría debido a que el hongo actúa más rápido. El mildiu una de las enfermedades que afecta al cultivo de melón. Actualmente, se pierde gran parte de la producción debido a que esta enfermedad avanza de una forma vertiginosa, su diseminación o dispersión se realiza por medio del viento o láminas de agua, afectando al cultivo. Las medidas más comunes que se toman es evitar los encharcamientos o láminas de agua en el cultivo, la humedad favorece en gran parte para que se presente esta enfermedad. La aplicación de productos químicos ayuda a erradicar esta enfermedad, siempre y cuando sean aplicados en el momento justo, se puede observar presencia del mildiu que básicamente afecta a las hojas de la planta interrumpiendo su proceso fotosintético | es_ES |
