Acute Respiratory Insufficiency is one of the main causes of mortality in health homes due to the complexity of its signs and symptoms as well as the affectation of the central nervous and neurological system of the patient based on the lack of oxygen in the blood because it is not gaseous exchange occurs correctly in the respiratory process at the level of the lungs. The purpose of this clinical case is to apply a nursing care process in an 81-year-old patient with Acute Respiratory Failure in the Emergency area of the General Hospital San Francisco de Quito. An assessment is carried out prioritizing the primary signs and symptoms presented by the patient and establishing specific nursing care to solve the problems present in the patient and improve their health, leading an evaluation of the care applied to the patient with Acute Respiratory Failure. Through the optimal assessment of the patient, stability in their health status could be achieved by applying the appropriate nursing interventions, a complete and individualized care and treatment with non-invasive mechanical ventilation and correct pharmacotherapy, also maintaining an education to the relatives on the Importance of care in the patient with Acute Respiratory Failure. To improve the patient's health, a care protocol must be followed and thus avoid complications that can affect the patient's life.es_ES
