| dc.description | The present clinical case was conducted in a geriatric patient, a 69-year-old female, diagnosed with glaucoma, who attended the San Pablo de Atenas health center, presenting symptoms of pain, red eyes, 10 years of evolution, multitreated without improvement with unspecified topical eye drops, 2 drops twice daily. He also presents ocular discharge, loss of visual acuity for 5 months prior to the consultation, moderate intensity headache is evidenced that has been maintained, increased blood pressure 150/100. Patient referred to the Alfredo Noboa hospital in the city of Guaranda, to the ophthalmology area in which it is assessed: visual acuity, IOP. During the review of personal and family pathological antecedents, no cause or reference was found that attributed to the disease. Glaucoma is the most common and preventable cause of blindness worldwide, which is associated with an increase in intraocular pressure, causing loss of peripheral vision at first. Through the diagnosis, results and nursing interventions, obtained in the NANDA, NOC NIC taxonomy, and based on the theory of Dorothea Orem, nursing care is provided promoting self-care, to improve the patient's quality of life. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente caso clínico se realizó en un paciente geriátrico, sexo femenino de 69 años de edad, con diagnóstico de glaucoma, quien acude al centro de salud San Pablo de Atenas, presentando sintomatología dolor, ojos rojos, de 10 años de evolución, multitratada sin mejoría con colirio tópico no especificado, 2 gotas dos veces al día. Además presenta secreción ocular, perdida de la agudeza visual desde hace 5 meses previos a la consulta, se evidencia cefalea de moderada intensidad que se ha mantenido y aumento de la presión arterial 150/100. Paciente referida al hospital Alfredo Noboa de la ciudad de Guaranda, al área de oftalmología en el cual se valora: agudeza visual, PIO. Durante la revisión de antecedente patológicos personales y familiares no se encuentra causa o referencia que atribuya a la enfermedad. El glaucoma es la causa más común y prevenible de ceguera a nivel mundial, mismo que está asociada al incremento de la presión intraocular, provocando en primera estancia perdida de la visión periférica. Atreves del diagnóstico, resultados e intervenciones de enfermería, obtenidos en la taxonomía NANDA, NOC NIC, y teniendo como base fundamental la teoría de Dorothea Orem, se brinda cuidado de enfermería promoviendo el autocuidado, para mejora la calidad de vida de paciente. | es_ES |
