This research was carried out with the purpose of morphologically describing the Green King Grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach), under the agro-ecological conditions of the Babahoyo canton. Morphological diversity was analyzed in a sample size of 16 individuals located within the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo located in Babahoyo province of Los Ríos. To evaluate the variability of phenotypic characteristics of King Grass grass, characterizers used for other studies of the same nature were adapted. To evaluate the variability of phenotypic characteristics of King Grass grass, characterizers used for other studies of the same nature were adapted. As results, it was possible to show that there are no phenotypic differences in the evaluated eco-types of King Grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach), since more than 90% of the evaluated variables did not exceed a CV> 50%, which indicates that the species can have little variability. Regarding the correlation coefficient, the results show a relationship between the evaluated variables, where it was possible to determine that there are variables that are related to: leaf area with leaf length 0.81; Similarly, a relationship between leaf area and leaf width 0.59 was evidenced. On the other hand, the analysis also shows a strong relationship between% RMS and dry weight -0.68. dc.description.abstractEsta investigación se realizó con la finalidad de Describir morfológicamente el pasto King Grass verde (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach), bajo las condiciones agroecológicas del cantón Babahoyo.
