The development of the research carried out at the José María Urbina Educational Institution proves an important deficiency in the nutritional state and that this is indeed closely related to the dietary intake of school children who attend this institution. This situation is denoted because in current times a healthy diet is not prioritized, that is, a diet that contains all the food groups, which is why the general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between nutritional status and intake dietetics. The methodology was carried out quantitatively since a frequency of consumption was made, and indicators such as weight // age, height // age and BMI // age were evaluated; it was also a study that was carried out using methods such as the correlational and explanatory method, it was an investigation in addition to the field and exploratory because the sources involved were used. The results given by the BMI // E indicator show that 25% of the study population are overweight, 15% are obese, 6% thin, 4% severe thin and 50% have a normal nutritional status, existing half of the population with nutritional problems, which is really worrying. Regarding the frequency of consumption, it was shown that schoolchildren who consume more processed foods and fats and less healthy foods have serious nutritional problems. As a conclusion of this study, it was shown that effectively carrying an improper dietary intake seriously damages the nutritional status of the individual.es_ES
