dc.description | To determine the benefit generated by respiratory therapy techniques applied to patients with mechanical ventilation of the Intensive Care Area of the IESS Babahoyo Hospital. Period October 2019 - March 2020. The descriptive, quantitative, field methodology was applied, with the use of observation to 30 patients who have mechanical ventilation equipment incorporated, whose results showed that, more than three-fourths of patients ( 77%), are over 25 and under 65, the type of invasive mechanical ventilation is the most prevalent with 53%, indicating the severity of the health condition in which the affected are, admitted for more than 5 weeks; only 47% were diagnosed with normal pressure and their hospital stay was prolonged; it was pointed out that, the Bachelor of Respiratory Therapy did apply the biosecurity measures, but did not inform their relatives about the proper use of these protective equipment; Despite this, respiratory physiotherapy prevents in-hospital infections. In conclusion, the technique of respiratory therapy is beneficial to maintain a balanced condition of patients with mechanical ventilation. | es_ES |

| es_ES |
