| dc.description | The neonatal metabolic screening test is one that allows the early detection of congenital pathologies in newborn children, therefore, it is considered relevant for mothers to perform this procedure in the established period, but currently there is evidence of ignorance in relation to This process. For this reason, the objective of the research is to determine the level of knowledge of mothers about the neonatal metabolic screening test at the Playas Health Center located in the canton of the same name, because it was selected to analyze the problem exposed. The research methods used are inductive and analytical, the study has a qualitative and quantitative approach, since they are study tools that have allowed us to gather information for subsequent analysis and relationship of the variables proposed. The result of the research obtained from the surveys applied to pregnant mothers to determine their level of knowledge about the neonatal metabolic screening test indicates that there is a low level of empowerment of the benefits and importance of running the screening test in time. The conclusion generated from the results of the research is that it is verified that mothers do not have the necessary knowledge to perform this procedure in children in an appropriate manner, so a theoretical proposal aimed at the education of mothers who ensure the quality of life of newborn children. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La prueba de tamizaje metabólico neonatal es aquella que permite la detección temprana de patologías congénitas en niños recién nacidos, por ello, se considera relevante que las madres de familia realicen este procedimiento en el periodo establecido, pero en la actualidad se evidencia desconocimiento en relación a este proceso. Por tal razón, el objetivo de la investigación es determinar el nivel de conocimiento de las madres sobre la prueba de tamizaje metabólico neonatal en el Centro de Salud Playas ubicado en el cantón del mismo nombre, debido a que fue seleccionado para analizar la problemática expuesta. Los métodos de investigación utilizados son el inductivo y analítico, el estudio posee un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, puesto que son herramientas de estudio que han permitido recopilar información para posterior análisis y relación de las variables planteadas. El resultado de la investigación obtenido de las encuestas aplicadas a las madres embarazadas para determinar su nivel de conocimiento sobre la prueba de tamizaje metabólico neonatal indica que existe un bajo nivel de empoderamiento de los beneficios e importancia de la ejecución de la prueba de tamizaje a tiempo. La conclusión generada de los resultados de la investigación es que se comprueba que las madres no poseen los conocimientos necesarios para realizar este procedimiento en los niños de forma adecuada, por lo que es relevante una propuesta teórica direccionada a la educación de las madres de familia que asegure la calidad de vida de los niños recién nacidos. | es_ES |
