| dc.description | This project aims to propose new nursing procedures for the treatment of pathological jaundice in newborns of the neonatology area of the General Hospital of Guasmo Sur in the city of Guayaquil. Being the pathological jaundice a disease that attacks the most defenseless and, being students of the nursing career we could not see ourselves, that is why we decided to act by formulating this research project. Several nursing professionals collaborated with this work contributing with a grain of sand from their perspective with new ideas about what they consider better nursing procedures. A small number of newborns suffer from this pathology, taking into account the overproduction of bilirubin, with phototherapy being the most effective treatment for the rapid recovery of RN. The research question is answered through an experiment that involves distributing a questionnaire to nursing professionals. For this, their experiences and knowledge are taken into account. Based on their opinion, they are asked to comment on what would be the best treatment options in RN. The responses received show that feeling a great social responsibility leads to more intentions to improve nursing practice than to feel a small medical distance. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente proyecto pretende proponer nuevos procedimientos de enfermería para el tratamiento de la ictericia patológica en recién nacidos del área de neonatología del Hospital General del Guasmo Sur de la ciudad de Guayaquil. Siendo la ictericia patológica una enfermedad que ataca a los más indefensos y, siendo nosotros estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería no podíamos quedarnos viendo, es por esto que decidimos actuar mediante la formulación de este proyecto de investigación. Varios profesionales de enfermería colaboraron con este trabajo aportando con un granito de arena desde su perspectiva con nuevas ideas sobre lo que ellos consideran mejores procedimientos de enfermería. Una pequeña cantidad de recién nacidos padecen de esta patología, teniendo en cuenta la sobre producción de bilirrubina, erigiéndose la fototerapia como el tratamiento más efectivo para la pronta recuperación de los RN. La pregunta de investigación se responde a través de un experimento que implica distribuir un cuestionario a los profesionales de enfermería. Para ello se toma en cuenta sus experiencias y conocimientos. Sobre la base de su opinión, se les pide que comenten sobre cuáles serían las mejores opciones de tratamiento en RN. Las respuestas recibidas muestran que sentir una gran responsabilidad social conduce a más intenciones de mejorar la práctica de enfermería que sentir una distancia médica pequeña. | es_ES |
