dc.descriptionThe presence of burnout syndrome in nursing staff is a silent enemy that threatens health and has a negative impact on the performance of their functions and the quality of care in the service provided to patients. The problem is visualized and analyzed at the Martin Icaza Hospital, Babahoyo, Los Ríos, where the workforce of nurses between nurses and auxiliaries is 109 individuals, of which the sample of 56 nurses is made using non-probabilistic type sampling Intentional by criteria of inclusion and exclusion, descriptive method is applied since the characteristics of the investigation are adjusted to the concrete reality that is explored through observation and survey techniques, where the fundamental instrument was the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) Questionnaire. The results confirm that 62.5% of the nurses suffered greater emotional exhaustion, in general terms in the nursing staff it has a presence of 35.71% in contrast it was possible to identify signs that on the areas of greatest concern being Santa Lucia with 71.43%, in addition to a notable impact on the decrease in the performance of nursing functions. It is concluded that burnout syndrome has a high degree of incidence among nursing staff, in addition to a notable influence on nursing functions, reducing their performance even to an unsatisfactory level.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa presencia del síndrome de burnout dentro del personal de enfermería es un enemigo silencioso que atenta contra la salud y repercute negativamente en el desempeño de sus funciones y la calidad del cuidado en el servicio que se brinda a los pacientes. La problemática se visualiza y analiza en el Hospital Martin Icaza, Babahoyo, Los ríos, donde la fuerza laboral de personal de enfermería entre enfermeras y auxiliares es de 109 individuos, de las cuales se conforma la muestra de 56 enfermeras utilizando muestreo no probabilístico de tipo intencional por criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se aplica método descriptivo puesto que las características de la investigación se ajustan a la realidad concreta que se explora mediante las técnicas de observación y encuesta, donde el instrumento fundamental fue el Cuestionario Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Los resultados confirman que el 62,5% de las enfermeras padecían agotamiento emocional mayor prevalencia, en términos generales en el personal de enfermería tiene una presencia de 35,71% en contraste se logró identificar indicios que sobre las áreas de mayor preocupación siendo Santa Lucia con 71,43%, además de un notable impacto en la disminución del rendimiento de las funciones de enfermería. Se concluye que el síndrome de burnout tiene un alto grado de incidencia dentro del personal de enfermería, además de una influencia notable sobre las funciones de enfermería reduciendo su desempeño aun un nivel poco satisfactorio.es_ES
