| dc.description | The purpose of this case study is to analyze the network infrastructure and bandwidth consumption of the General Babahoyo Hospital, for this purpose an interview was conducted with the Director of Information Systems Technologies and a visual analysis of the entire network infrastructure , in order to collect the information. Once the information was collected and through its analysis, it was evident that the hospital has several technical problems, both physically and logically. In the physical part, the problem could be evidenced through visual analysis and the interview where it was discovered that the structured cabling exceeded by more than 100% its capacity for connecting computer equipment. In the logical part, it was evident that the ICT department of the Babahoyo General Hospital does not have autonomy, it is managed centrally by the National Directorate of Information Technology, which is the one that determines or assigns bandwidth of all the proprietary hospitals of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute, said address (DNTI) assigns a bandwidth of only 10Mb for the use of the entire institution. After the analysis of the team that manages the institution's internet, it was observed that the allocation of 10Mb is very little since it is always saturated by the large amount demanded by all the computer equipment that requires an internet connection. At the end of the investigation, it is concluded that, for the existing problems of the network in the physical and logical aspect, one of the possible solutions would be to carry out duly justified projects for both the network infrastructure and the consumption of bandwidth, said Projects will require the implementation of a new structured cabling line and the expansion of bandwidth to meet the needs of the Hospital. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Este caso de estudio tiene la finalidad de analizar la infraestructura de red y el consumo de ancho de banda del Hospital General Babahoyo, para eso se realizó una entrevista a el Director de Tecnologías de Sistemas de Información y un análisis visual de toda la infraestructura de red, para poder recopilar la información. Una vez recopilada la información y mediante el análisis de la misma, se pudo evidenciar que el hospital cuenta con varios problemas técnicos, tanto en la parte física como en la parte lógica. En la parte física se pudo evidenciar el problema mediante el análisis visual y la entrevista donde se descubrió que el cableado estructurado sobrepaso en más del 100% su capacidad conexión de equipos informáticos. En la parte lógica se pudo evidenciar que el departamento de TIC´s del Hospital General Babahoyo no tiene autonomía, este es dirigido de manera centralizada por la Dirección Nacional de Tecnologías de la Información, el cual es el que determina o asigna el ancho de banda de todos los hospitales propietarios del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social, dicha dirección (DNTI), asigna un ancho de banda de tan solo 10Mb para la utilización de toda la institución. Tras el análisis del equipo que administra el internet de la institución se observó que la asignación de 10Mb es muy poca ya que esta se encuentra siempre saturada por la gran cantidad que demandan todos los equipos informáticos que requieren conexión a internet. Al finalizar con la investigación se concluye que, para los problemas existentes de la red en el aspecto físico y lógico, una de las posibles soluciones seria realizar proyectos debidamente justificados tanto para la infraestructura de red, como para el consumo de ancho de banda, dichos proyectos requerirán la implementación de un nuevo tendido de cableado estructurado y la ampliación del ancho de banda para satisfacer las necesidades que requiere el Hospital. | es_ES |
