| dc.description | SUMMARY The fruit fly (Diptera-Tephritidae) is one of the most important phytosanitary problems in fruit trees. The direct damages that cause are the destruction of the pulp, diminution of its commercial value, facility to the attack of pathogens and diminution of the production of fruit, the indirect damages represent the restriction of the international trade. The present work was carried out in the Puebloviejo Canton, Province of Los Ríos, with the objective of identifying the hosts of the fruit fly in said Canton. Samples were taken of ripe and overmatured fruits, fallen and from the tree, they were placed in a ripening chamber, after the dissection, the pupas pass to a pupation chamber to finally obtain the adults. The experimental design that was used for this work is the deductive method. It was determined that there are four species of fruit fly that are present in the town of Puebloviejo The results that were reported was that Ceratitis capitata is present in the Province of Los Ríos and its most important host is the almond fruit (Terminalia catappa), the fruit tree Guava (Psidium guajava L), is the host of the four species of fly of the fruit present in the study area. Of Anastrepha fraterculus, its favorite host is the arazá (Eugenia stipitata), of A. striata is the guayaba (Psidium guajava L), of A. distincta is the red plum (Spondias purpurea). The most plague tolerant fruit trees are poma rosa (Eugenia jambos L) and carambola (Averrhoa carambola), the most attacked fruit trees are almond (Terminalia catappa), red plum (Spondias purpurea), zapote (Quararibea cordata), arazá (Eugenia stipitata ) and guava (Psidium guajava L). | dc.description.abstract | RESUMEN La mosca de la fruta (Díptera-Tephritidae) es uno de los problemas fitosanitarios de mayor importancia en los frutales. Los daños directos que causan son la destrucción de la pulpa, disminución de su valor comercial, facilidad al ataque de patógenos y disminución de la producción de fruta, los daños indirectos representan la restricción del comercio internacional. El presente trabajo se realizó en el Cantón Puebloviejo, Provincia de los Ríos, con el objetivo de identificar los hospederos de la mosca de la fruta en dicho Cantón. Se tomaron muestras de frutos maduros y sobremaduros, caídos y del árbol, se colocaron en una cámara de maduración, luego de la disección, las pupas pasan a una cámara de pupación para finalmente obtener los adultos. El diseño experimental que se utilizó para este trabajo es el método deductivo. Se determinó que son cuatro especies de mosca de la fruta que están presentes en el cantón Puebloviejo Los resultados que se dieron a conocer fue que Ceratitis capitata está presente en la Provincia de los Ríos y su hospedero más importante es el frutal almendro (Terminalia catappa), el frutal Guayaba (Psidium guajava L), es hospedero de las cuatro especies de mosca de la fruta presentes en el área de estudio. De Anastrepha fraterculus, su hospedero favorito es el arazá (Eugenia stipitata), de A. striata es la guayaba (Psidium guajava L), de A. distincta es la ciruela roja (Spondias purpurea). Los frutales más tolerantes a la plaga son poma rosa (Eugenia jambos L) y carambola (Averrhoa carambola), los frutales más atacados son almendro (Terminalia catappa), ciruela roja (Spondias purpurea), zapote (Quararibea cordata), arazá (Eugenia stipitata) y guayaba (Psidium guajava L).
