dc.description	Most people with typhoid fever feel better within a few days of starting antibiotic treatment, although a small number of them may die from complications. Drinking water must be purified, wastewater must be disposed of effectively, and milk must be pasteurized. Chronic carriers should avoid handling food and should not care for patients or young children; Adequate isolation precautions for patients must be implemented. The reference population should be given instructions on cleaning and disinfection of particular water supply and storage systems if they exist, and the cleaning and repair of septic tanks or other sewage mechanisms should be promoted.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	La mayoría de las personas con fiebre tifoidea se siente mejor a los pocos días del inicio del tratamiento con antibióticos, aunque una cantidad reducida de ellas puede morir por complicaciones. El agua potable debe ser purificada, las aguas servidas deben eliminarse de forma eficaz, y la leche debe pasteurizarse. Los portadores crónicos deben evitar la manipulación de alimentos y no deben cuidar a pacientes o a niños pequeños; hay que implementar precauciones de aislamiento adecuadas de los pacientes. A la población de referencia se le debe dar indicaciones sobre limpieza y desinfección de sistemas particulares de abastecimiento y almacenamiento de aguas si éstos existiesen, y se debe promover la limpieza y reparación de fosas sépticas o de otros mecanismos de alcantarillado	es_ES
