dc.descriptionIntroduction: Active smoking is considered one of the main risk factors for contracting pulmonary emphysema in older adults, this being a contaminant that affects not only the people who consume it but also the people who live around it. The objective: of this research is to determine the influence of active smoking in lung emphysema in the elderly of the new Barreiro Sector of Babahoyo Canton during the first semester of 2018. The methodology: A cross-sectional, descriptive field study was carried out using the analytical method, with a quantitative approach. The study universe of the Barreiro Nuevo Sector of Canton Babahoyo during the first semester 2018 and the study sample was 70 people. We used random sampling. The interview technique and the surveys were applied to gather information. The results: Obtained from the information collected, that 100% of older adults consume cigarettes 64% are people diagnosed with pulmonary emphysema who are directly exposed to tobacco smoke because this activity began in their environment, of which 36% did not They have been diagnosed with this pathology but with different respiratory diseases, 50% data on the ignorance of older adults is described, which is pulmonary emphysema produced by tobacco consumption. It is concluded: that active smoking directly influences the development of pulmonary emphysema in older adults in the Barreiro Nuevo sector of the Babahoyo canton, as shown in graphic 4 of our data analysis. The results: obtained allow the fulfillment of the objectives and the verification of the hypothesis.es_ES
dc.description.abstractIntroducción: El tabaquismo activo es considerado uno de los principales factores de riesgo para contraer enfisema pulmonar en los adultos mayores, siendo este un contaminante que afecta no solo a las personas que lo consumen sino también a las personas que conviven a su alrededor. El objetivo: de esta investigación busca determinar la influencia del tabaquismo activo en el desarrollo de enfisema pulmonar en los adultos mayores del Sector Barreiro nuevo del Cantón Babahoyo durante el primer semestre 2018. La metodología: Se realizó un estudio de campo, descriptivo y de corte transversal a través del método analítico, con enfoque cuantitativo. El universo de estudio del Sector Barreiro Nuevo del Canton Babahoyo durante el primer semestre 2018 y la muestra de estudio fue de 70 personas. Se utilizó el muestreo aleatorio sistemático. Se aplicó la técnica de entrevista y las encuestas para recopilar información. Los resultados: Obtenidos de la información recabada determinaron que el 100% de adultos mayores consumen cigarrillo el 64% son personas diagnosticas con enfisema pulmonar que están expuestos directamente al humo del tabaco por iniciarse esta actividad en su entorno, de los cuales el 36% no han sido diagnosticados con esta patología pero si con diferentes enfermedades respiratorias, además se describen datos del 50% sobre desconocimiento de los adultos mayores que es el enfisema pulmonar producido por el consumo del tabaco. Se concluye: que el tabaquismo activo influye directamente en el desarrollo del enfisema pulmonar en adultos mayores del sector Barreiro Nuevo del cantón Babahoyo como se demuestra en el grafico 4 de nuestro análisis de datos.es_ES
