dc.description | Since in Ecuador the rate of diabetes has risen alarmingly as the leading cause of mortality, representing 6% of the total population, it has been decided to carry out the present work, which demonstrates how serious an uncontrolled diabetes can be. Diabetes mellitus type II is a group of metabolic disorders on carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, resulting in chronic hyperglycemia that affects any type of population and because not one of the most vulnerable such as pregnant women. When a diabetic patient becomes pregnant, there is a risk of presenting multiple complications for both the pregnant woman and the fetus, the newborn, the child and the adult child of a diabetic mother that can even become fatal outcomes, such as spontaneous abortions, fetal deaths , macrosomies, respiratory problems, neonatal hypoglycemia, among others; This being said, emphasis must be placed on a very strict control and an effective and individualized treatment of this disease. On the other hand, the risk factors for developing diabetes mellitus should be taken into consideration, in this way be alert and help to carry out the screening of the same, through timely examinations allow the doctor in case of diagnosis of diabetes. the metabolic state of the patient and establish the treatment as soon as possible to avoid problems especially in the fetus | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Puesto que en Ecuador la taza de diabetes ha ascendido de manera preocupante ubicándose como la primera causa de mortalidad, representando el 6% de la población total se ha decidido realizar el presente trabajo donde se demuestra lo grave que puede llegar a ser una diabetes no controlada. La diabetes mellitus tipo II es un grupo de trastornos metabólicos sobre los carbohidratos, lípidos y proteínas, dando como resultado hiperglucemia crónica que afecta a cualquier tipo de población y porque no a una de las más vulnerables como son las embarazadas. Cuando una paciente diabética se embaraza, corre el riesgo de presentar múltiples complicaciones tanto para la gestante como para el feto, el neonato, el niño y el hijo adulto de madre diabética que pueden incluso convertirse en desenlaces fatales, tales como abortos espontáneos, muertes fetales, macrosomías, problemas respiratorios, hipoglicemia neonatal entre otros; dicho esto hay que hacer énfasis en realizar un control muy riguroso y un tratamiento adecuado eficaz e individualizado de esta enfermedad. Por otro lado se debe tomar muy en consideración los factores de riesgo para desarrollar diabetes mellitus, de esta manera estar alertas y que ayuden a realizar el tamizaje de la misma, a través de exámenes oportunos permiten al médico en caso de que se diagnostique diabetes establecer el estado metabólico de la paciente e instaurar el tratamiento lo más pronto posible para evitar problemas sobre todo en el feto | es_ES |
