| dc.description | This research focuses on the Decentralised Autonomous Government of the Province of Los Ríos, which faces serious problems in the use of its website, vital for the effective dissemination of information and government services. The current platform has aesthetic and functional flaws that affect the user experience, such as responsive design problems and unintuitive navigation on mobile devices. To address this problem, the use of Jakob Nielsen's usability heuristics is proposed as an evaluation method, thus fulfilling the overall objective of increasing user engagement and satisfaction by comprehensively identifying and diagnosing usability issues, specific objectives include identifying specific vulnerabilities, analysing appropriate heuristics and recommending specific site improvements. Lack of adequate usability was found to be a major barrier to effective citizen participation on local government digital platforms, improving usability will not only benefit the current user experience, but will also set the standard for future public platforms that meet the requirements set out in the Organic Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information (LOTAIP). | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | En esta presente investigación se centra en el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado de la Provincia de Los Ríos que enfrenta serios problemas en el uso de su sitio web, vital para la difusión efectiva de información y servicios gubernamentales, la plataforma actual tiene fallas estéticas y funcionales que afectan la experiencia del usuario, como problemas de diseño responsivo y navegación poco intuitiva en dispositivos móviles. Para solucionar este problema se propone como método de evaluación el uso de la heurística de usabilidad de Jakob Nielsen cumpliendo así con el objetivo general es aumentar la participación y la satisfacción del usuario mediante la identificación y el diagnóstico exhaustivos de problemas de usabilidad, los objetivos específicos incluyen identificar vulnerabilidades específicas, analizar heurísticas apropiadas y recomendar mejoras específicas del sitio. Se descubrió que la falta de usabilidad adecuada es una barrera importante para la participación ciudadana efectiva en las plataformas digitales de los gobiernos locales, mejorar la usabilidad no solo beneficiará la experiencia del usuario actual, sino que también establecerá el estándar para futuras plataformas públicas que cumplan con los requisitos establecidos en la Ley Orgánica de Transparencia y Acceso a la Información Pública (LOTAIP). | es_ES |
