Hypertension is a condition that affects millions of people and its prevalence is increasing due to various factors, one of them being people's inadequate lifestyle and diet. Worldwide, it impacts more than 1.28 billion individuals whose ages are between 30 and 79 years old. In the last 30 years it has increased from 650 to 1.28 billion. The objective of the case is to determine the nutritional care process in an 80-year-old female patient with a diagnosis of arterial hypertension, who goes to the health center for outpatient consultation to obtain her monthly treatment, with Enalapril 20 mg. The results of the nutritional intervention carried out on the patient were positive, since through the follow-up carried out it was possible to know that the pressure began to decrease, passing 170/110mm/hg, which was the initial value, in the second consultation it went to 168/90mm/hg. In the third consultation, 160/79mm/hg and in the fourth consultation, the patient showed a pressure of 155/89mm/hg. It was concluded that: it was concluded that the nutritional plan is based on a Low Sodium Diet diet of 1275 Kcal/day, high in fiber, low in fat and low in sodium, with the purpose of maintaining an adequate state of health in the patient. since reducing salt and fat intake helps control blood pressure and prevent associated complications and reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.es_ES
