dc.descriptionVisual fatigue or asthenopic symptoms are a set of discomforts that affect vision caused by excessive effort of eye muscles that are caused by different factors, including exposure to digital screens. The objective was to determine the relationship between the use of digital screens and asthenopic symptoms in administrative personnel who work in the Faculties of the Technical University of Babahoyo; Methodology: The Methodology was field-applied, descriptive, prospective cross-sectional with a qualitative approach, we worked with 18 administrative staff with an age range of 25 to 35 years, the CVSS17 Test was applied in order to analyze the stenopic symptoms derived from prolonged use of digital screens. Results: The most frequent gender was female in the range of 25 to 35 years, the most frequent symptoms were blurred vision (12), (15) eye pain, (15) eyelid heaviness, (15) increased blinking, (14) with burning eyes, with accommodation (13), and visual fatigue (15); The prevalence was 44.1% of symptoms in the study population. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a high frequency of asthenopic symptoms in administrative employees of the different faculties of the Technical University of Babahoyo, which affects their work performance, due to the exposure of more than eight hours working on digital screens, Inappropriate distance adoption and poor knowledge of visual care contribute to the increase in this pathology; the use of blue block lenses can reduce the incidence in administrative staff.es_ES

dc.description.abstractLa fatiga visual o síntomas astenópicos conjunto de molestias que afectan la visión causada por el esfuerzo excesivo de músculos oculares que son provocados por diferentes factores entre ellos la exposición a pantallas digitales. El objetivo fue determinar la relación del uso de pantalla digitales con los síntomas astenópicos en el personal administrativo que laboran en las Facultades de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo; Metodología: La Metodología fue tipo aplicada de campo, descriptiva, prospectiva de corte transversal de enfoque cualitativo, se trabajó con 18 administrativos con rango de edad de 25 a 35 años, se aplicó el Test de CVSS17 con el fin de analizar los síntomas estenópicos derivados del uso prolongado de pantallas digitales. Resultados: El género más frecuente fue el sexo femenino en el rango de 25 a 35 años, los síntomas más frecuentes fueron visión borrosa (12), (15) dolor ocular, (15) pesadez palpebral, (15) con aumento de parpadeo, (14) con ardor ocular, con acomodación (13), y fatiga visual (15); la prevalencia fue de 44,1% de sintomatología en la población de estudio, 14 presentaron miopía, 2 amplitud acomodativa y 2 con flexibilidad acomodativa. Conclusión: Se concluye que existe una alta frecuencia de síntomas astenópicos en los empleados administrativos de las diferentes facultades de la Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo lo que incide en su desempeño laboral, debido a la exposición de más de ocho horas trabajando en las pantallas digitales, lo que contribuye al aumento de esta patología, el uso de lentes blue block puede disminuir la incidencia en administrativos.es_ES
