Objective: Determine the risk factors associated to preterm and treatment labor in pregnant patients in Hospital General IESS Babahoyo september 2022 – august 2023. Methods: A cross cutting retrospective descriptive study was conducted, based on data collection through case analysis through the AS400 system of the IESS Babahoyo General Hospital and a data collection sheet is produced as a tool for the collection of data. Results: In the present study, the main risk factors associated with preterm labor were identified as urinary tract infections (UTI) with a frequency of 21%, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy with a frequency of 16% and having a history of preterm delivery with 13% in pregnant women who were attended at the Hospital General IESS Babahoyo from September 2022 to August 2023. With respect to management, the adequate use of active management, together with expectant management, benefits the prolongation of gestation, allowing fetal lung maturation, and in case of ending in premature delivery, improving the quality of extrauterine life of the newborn.es_ES
