Diabetes mellitus II is a pathology that affects blood glucose levels, this chronic disease in which the body fails to regulate glucose levels, so it is known that the most frequent causes are that the person resists insulin produced by the pancreas or in turn to the decrease in insulin production. In this case study, the objective of applying the nursing care processes to a 77-year-old patient with the presence of infection in the distal phalanx with a pathological history of diabetes mellitus II and arterial hypertension is set out. In addition, the appropriate assessment of Marjorie Gordon's 11 functional patterns is carried out, and finally the implementation of nursing interventions to improve the patient's health status. Nursing care processes are carried out based on the diagnoses made to deal with the patient's symptoms, especially because the patient is an adult over 77 years of age who goes to the Martin Icaza General Hospital with a wound in the right foot in the distal phalanx. of the big toe, which is found with signs of swelling, infection, acute pain, with a pathological history of HBP and type II diabetes mellitus, which is treated at the health home. Finally, it can be concluded that in complementary examinations an infection was identified, so the doctor's prescriptions were applied to deal with it. This study allows us to know how nursing care is carried out in this type of patients, which is why its preparation is very important.es_ES
