dc.description“Ehrlichia canis” is the bacteria responsible for causing the disease called tick fever or canine Ehrlichiosis. The objective of this thesis was to determine the presence of “ehrlichia canis” in patients at the Vet-Bet veterinary clinic in the city of Quevedo. This project was carried out with a sample of 100 dogs, all of which have visited the Vet-Bet animal clinic, regardless of the reason for the consultation. A blood sample of 0.5 ml to 1 ml was taken directly from the cephalic, jugular or saphenous vein. After this, three drops of blood and three of the Buffer substance that came within the same senspert test were placed. The test was waited for 5 to 10 minutes and after this it was marked as positive in the case of having painted under the T mark. As a result, it was found that there is a 39% presence of Ehrlichia canis in the veterinary clinic. Vet-Bet, taking into account the measured variables. Based on the Chi Square statistical test, we can confirm that there is no association in the variables; age, race and sex with E. canis positive patients. These results will allow pet owners to take preventive measures.es_ES
