Brucellosis in humans is considered an infectious disease, easily contagious for people who work in slaughterhouses handling animals that are slaughtered for human consumption. The type of research that was applied was evaluative and descriptive using the chi square test, where the results obtained on the Incidence of Brucella in humans considered risk groups in municipal slaughterhouses belonging to the southern area of the province of Los Ríos were evaluated. The entire working population of the slaughterhouses of (Babahoyo, Baba, Vinces and Palenque), with a total of 72 people where a structured survey was developed, after acceptance and signing of the informed consent, to determine the presence of factors that affect the presence of the illness. Of the 72 cases investigated, 1.38% tested positive for the rose bengal plate seroagglutination technique, corresponding to the case presented with incidence of Brucella in humans. The male sex had no incidence of this disease, while the female sex had 1 positive case. Humans aged 38 years have 1.38% positive cases for Brucella, and other ages had no incidence of this disease. In the Babahoyo slaughterhouse there was a positive case equivalent to 1.38% of the total cases sampled. In the evisceration area there was one positive case equivalent to 1.38% of the total cases sampled. In the risk factors studied, it was observed that the population studied does not use gloves that cover the entire arm, apron and mask when handling animals and viscera, which represents a risk factor for the workers of the Camal de Babahoyo, where There was a positive case of Brucella in humans.es_ES
