| dc.description | Cysticercosis is a zoonotic parasitic infection of tissues that is generated by the larval stages of the flat intestinal parasite, Taenia Solium. Which represents a problem for human health because in the Babahoyo canton, backyard pigs are raised to be introduced into the municipal slaughterhouse. The objective of this research focused on determining the incidence of cysticercosis in pigs slaughtered in the Municipal Camal of the Babahoyo Canton, Province of Los Ríos. The research study was carried out in order to obtain updated statistics on the presence of cysticerci in organs and muscles of these slaughter animals, carried out through macroscopic postmortem inspection in the slaughterhouse. In addition, it was decided to categorize the positive and negative pigs according to the variables: breed, age, sex, origin, affected organs and muscles. The sample size was 377 pigs, the methodology used in data processing was the non-parametric statistical design (Chi Square), and the methods were inductive-deductive, experimental-descriptive. As a result of the investigation, a 0% incidence was obtained, this is because in February 2024 only pigs were entered from a large-scale production farm in the Montalvo canton, because due to regulations, backyard animals can no longer be received. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La cisticercosis es una infección parasitaria zoonótica de los tejidos que se genera por los estadios larvarios del parasito intestinal plano, Taenia Solium. Lo que representa un problema para la salud en los seres humanos debido a que en el cantón Babahoyo se realiza la crianza de cerdos de traspatio para ser introducidos en el camal municipal. El objetivo de esta investigación se enfocó en determinar la Incidencia de cisticercosis en cerdos faenados en el Camal Municipal del Cantón Babahoyo, Provincia de Los Ríos. El estudio de investigación se realizó con el fin de realizar estadísticas actualizadas sobre la presencia de cisticercos en órganos y músculos de estos animales de abasto, realizado mediante la inspección macroscópica postmortem en el camal. Además, se dispuso categorizar a los cerdos positivos y negativos acorde a las variables: raza, edad, sexo, procedencia, órganos y músculos afectados. El tamaño de muestra fue de 377 cerdos, la metodología empleada en el procesamiento de datos fue el diseño estadístico no paramétrico (Chi Cuadrado), y los métodos fueron inductivo-deductivo, experimental-descriptivo. Como resultado de la investigación se obtuvo un 0% de incidencia, esto debido a que en febrero del 2024 solo se ingresaron cerdos de una granja productora a gran escala del cantón Montalvo, porque debido a los reglamentos ya no se pueden recibir animales criados de traspatio. | es_ES |
