The present analysis focuses on the relevance of understanding the physicochemical characteristics of the herbicide Propanil in the agricultural context. This compound, widely applied in crops such as rice, exhibits properties that affect its permanence in the soil and its effectiveness in controlling weeds. The unique molecular structure of Propanil determines attributes such as its ability to dissolve in water, its volatility, and its ability to adhere to soil organic matter, thus influencing its mobility and toxicity in the agricultural environment. Additionally, it is crucial to have detailed knowledge of the weed species that Propanil controls, such as Echinochloa spp. and Leptochloa spp., to understand their impact on surrounding ecosystems. We emphasize the importance of carrying out exhaustive evaluations of the effects of Propanil on biodiversity and soil health, as well as the implementation of integrated weed management strategies to mitigate the environmental risks inherent to its use in agriculturees_ES
