In Ecuador, dependence on chemical pesticides poses environmental and health risks, in addition to affecting farmers' profits and food availability. Pests such as rice blight and complex fungi have caused significant production losses. Rice leafhoppers, leaf miners and other insects pose additional challenges to rice crops in the country. The main objective is to determine the effect of the use of pheromones in the control of pests in rice plants in Ecuador. Specific objectives include identifying pheromones used in pest management, addressing specific challenges in the Ecuadorian context, and improving agricultural sustainability. Given the Results, pheromones, especially volatile ones, are effective in pest control by attracting certain insects. Insects such as rice leafhoppers and leafminer flies have been identified as important pests. The use of pheromones offers advantages such as high specificity and sensitivity, which makes it easier to monitor insect populations and make decisions for pest control. Conclusion of this study highlights that the use of pheromones can be an effective, profitable and sustainable solution for rice producers in Ecuador. A review of the literature shows successful cases in other countries and demonstrates that pheromones can significantly reduce damage caused by pests. The importance of setting action thresholds, continuous monitoring and training of farmers is highlightedes_ES
