| dc.description | Research in the field of health and well-being of the elderly population is of utmost importance today, as the aging of the population is a global trend that presents significant challenges for society. The case study focuses on the quality of life and the development of stress in an elderly person over 80 years old, residing in the Parish of Febres Cordero. An integrated approach is used, including a conceptual framework, medical history, and various psychometric assessments, with a particular emphasis on the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations. This study provides a detailed understanding of the situation of this elderly individual in terms of their quality of life and their ability to cope with stress. Areas of concern were identified, such as physical health, social relationships, autonomy, and stress coping. Through the application of the COPE Inventory, the coping strategies used by the individual to deal with stressful situations were analyzed. These results served as the basis for the development of a specific therapeutic plan that addressed the unique needs and challenges of this elderly person. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | La investigación en el campo de la salud y el bienestar de la población adulta mayor es de suma importancia en la actualidad, ya que el envejecimiento de la población es una tendencia global que presenta desafíos significativos para la sociedad. El estudio de caso se enfoca en la calidad de vida y el desarrollo del estrés en un adulto mayor de más de 80 años de edad, residente en la Parroquia Febres Cordero. Se utiliza un enfoque integral que incluye un marco conceptual, una historia clínica y diversas baterías psicométricas, con especial énfasis en el Inventario de Afrontamiento al Estrés. Este estudio proporciona una comprensión detallada de la situación de este adulto mayor en términos de su calidad de vida y su capacidad para hacer frente al estrés. Se identificaron áreas de preocupación, como la salud física, las relaciones sociales, la autonomía y el afrontamiento del estrés. A través de la aplicación del Inventario COPE, se analizaron las estrategias de afrontamiento utilizadas por el individuo para hacer frente a las situaciones estresantes.
