| dc.description | This clinical case study focused on the treatment of an 82-year-old patient diagnosed with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. The main objective was to determine the effectiveness of the physiotherapy intervention in this elderly patient, taking into account its safety and tolerance. Various physical therapy treatment modalities were explored and considerations for customizing the therapeutic approach were identified. The results underlined that an individualized physical therapy, which included manual therapy, strengthening exercises, nerve stimulation and gait correction, managed to reduce pain, improve mobility and increase the quality of life of the geriatric patient. This approach not only benefited the specific case, but also provided valuable knowledge for geriatric physiotherapy in similar situations. As a key recommendation, the importance of applying individualized approaches in the treatment of elderly patients with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome is emphasized, with the aspiration of implementing these findings in clinical practice to improve care for this population. | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | Este estudio de caso clínico se enfocó en el tratamiento de un paciente de 82 años diagnosticado con Síndrome del Túnel Tarsiano. El objetivo principal fue determinar la eficacia de la intervención fisioterapéutica en este paciente de edad avanzada, teniendo en cuenta su seguridad y tolerancia. Se exploraron diversas modalidades de tratamiento fisioterapéutico y se identificaron consideraciones para personalizar el enfoque terapéutico. Los resultados subrayaron que una terapia fisioterapéutica individualizada, que abarcó terapia manual, ejercicios de fortalecimiento, estimulación nerviosa y corrección de la marcha, logró reducir el dolor, mejorar la movilidad y aumentar la calidad de vida del paciente geriátrico. Este enfoque no solo benefició al caso específico, sino que también aportó valiosos conocimientos para la fisioterapia geriátrica en situaciones similares. Como recomendación clave, se enfatiza la importancia de aplicar enfoques individualizados en el tratamiento de pacientes ancianos con Síndrome del Túnel Tarsiano, con la aspiración de implementar estos hallazgos en la práctica clínica para mejorar la atención a esta población. | es_ES |
