For years and now worm meal has been used as a source of protein in the feed of production animals and even in the feeding of dogs and humans, this is due to the low cost involved in producing it. Earthworms have a series of organoleptic properties that make them very appealing to animals (Gonzalez, 2022). Among the low-cost alternatives for feeding broilers, is the Californian red worm or red coquette (Eisenia foetida (Savigny)), which has a high protein content (between 70% and 75%), being easy to breed in captivity, highly reproductive and easy to feed since it can be fed with animal manure or vegetable waste. This research consisted of the analysis of the use of the importance of worm meal in the feeding of broilers, using the qualitative and exploratory method based on data from scientific journals, web pages, information obtained from bibliographies of Google scholar and scientific articles; knowing that this exploratory technique of data collection is the most appropriate to obtain reliable information. In the analysis of the background of the use of worm meal it was evidenced that its use in low doses is not so favorable, it is also not profitable if when producing it you must buy the worms, it is profitable as long as it is possessed as a resource within the premises. Earthworm meal is used not only for feeding broilers but also for other species.es_ES
