In this clinical case, the diagnosis and treatment of pseudomyopia in a 21-year-old patient was addressed, related to the excessive use of electronic devices. Pseudomyopia is characterized by excessive ocular accommodation that causes difficulties in distance vision. The patient presented symptoms such as blurred vision, headache, watery eyes, and burning eyes after using the computer and cell phone for prolonged periods. Several examinations were performed, including ocular refraction, which confirmed the diagnosis of pseudomyopia due to overaccommodation. Objective: To determine pseudomyopia due to over-accommodation in a 21-year-old male patient, to theoretically substantiate the scientific basis of the present study and to make a diagnosis of the present clinical case. Results: the patient manifested discomforts such as headache, blurred vision, symptoms that became recurrent at night, and red eye symptoms. The clinical trial included Donders testing, direct ophthalmoscopy, retinoscopy testing. Once performed, spasm of accommodation is detected. Conclusions: Visual acuity deficits caused by changes in work activities and excessive use of electronic equipment. It was recommended to perform visual relaxation therapies, rest in the use of electronic equipment.es_ES
