dc.descriptionLow back pain is a growing socioeconomic and health problem and one of the main causes of workplace visits, absenteeism and disability. The purpose of this study was to describe the association between physical activity and low back pain in patients of economically active age who attended the physiotherapy services of the Pablo Arturo Suárez Hospital. of the Pablo Arturo Suárez Hospital. dc.description.abstractEl dolor lumbar es un problema socioeconómico y de salud creciente y una de las principales causas de visitas al lugar de trabajo, ausentismo y discapacidad. El propósito de este estudio fue describir la asociación entre la actividad física y el dolor lumbar en pacientes en edad económicamente activa que acudieron a los servicios de fisioterapia del Hospital Pablo Arturo Suárez. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en 203 pacientes con dolor lumbar seleccionados por muestreo aleatorio simple. Con consentimiento informado, se utilizaron el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física (IPAQ) y las herramientas desarrolladas por el autor para obtener la información requerida. Los datos fueron analizados con el programa SPSS v23.0. El estudio mostró que el dolor lumbar era abrumadoramente prevalente en las mujeres (65,5%), con una edad media de 46,1 años. La obesidad fue un factor predisponente para el 56,2%, sólo el 32% tenía conocimiento de ejercicios de fortalecimiento del CORE y el 56,2% puede estar asociado con dolor con una duración mayor a 12 semanas. Hubo una asociación significativa entre la obesidad y la disminución de la actividad física (p<0,05). Este estudio demostró la necesidad de prescribir ejercicios de fortalecimiento del CORE a pacientes con dolor lumbar.es_ES
