Facial paralysis is a neuromuscular disorder that results in weakness or paralysis of the muscles innervated by the facial nerve. This research addresses the need to understand the risk factors associated with this condition and its incidence in patients seeking treatment at the Los Ríos Sports Federation in Babahoyo. Using a multidisciplinary approach, patients with facial palsy were interviewed to determine the incidence and types of the condition, and risk factors contributing to its development were identified. Medical records were reviewed and clinical assessments were performed to obtain a complete picture of the condition. The results reveal a significant incidence of facial palsy in the evaluated patients, with a variety of risk factors identified, including previous viral infections, trauma, and other triggers. A higher prevalence was observed in certain age groups and gender. These findings highlight the importance of early identification of risk factors and development of appropriate prevention and treatment strategies. By implementing personalized preventive and rehabilitation measures, the incidence could be reduced and the quality of life of affected patients could be improved. This research contributes to existing knowledge on facial paralysis and provides a solid foundation for future research and clinical practice. The results obtained have significant implications for medical care and physiotherapy, with the aim of providing better results for patients facing this neuromuscular condition.es_ES
