dc.descriptionAmong soccer players, a grade II ankle sprain is an injury that can affect not only performance but also their sports career. Through this research work, we explore the incidence of ankle sprain and physiotherapeutic treatment in soccer players from the Los Ríos Sports Federation in the Babahoyo canton from June to October 2023. Through a qualitative descriptive work, with a sample of 215 athletes to whom the survey was applied to collect data. The results 21% of soccer players are 17 years old. 42.8% have more than 5 years of training experience. 35% attribute sprains to the inappropriate use of sports shoes, 25% to fatigue and muscle weakness. In addition, 83% had a sprain for more than 1 year. The main treatments received: 48.9% anti-inflammatory medication, 28.9% with pressure and 22.2% with rest and protection. 64% considered that physiotherapy was totally effective, while 36% considered it effective to some extent. 100% of those surveyed indicated that the Los Ríos Sports Federation provides medical and physiotherapist services. As a conclusion, ankle sprains due to their high incidence require special care, the inappropriate use of sports shoes, muscle fatigue were identified as the main risk factors, it is necessary to implement preventive practices focused on these aspects. The implementation of physiotherapy is very useful for an adequate recovery process.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEntre los futbolistas el esguince de tobillo de grado II es una lesión que puede afectar no solo el rendimiento sino su carrera deportiva. A través del presente trabajo de investigación exploramos la incidencia de esguince de tobillo y el tratamiento fisioterapéutico en futbolistas de la Federación Deportiva de Los Ríos en el cantón Babahoyo desde Junio a Octubre del 2023. A través de un trabajo descriptivo cualitativo, con una muestra de 215 deportistas a los cuales se les aplicó la encuesta para recopilar datos. Los resultados 21% de los futbolistas tienen 17 años. El 42.8% tiene más de 5 años de experiencia en entrenamiento. El 35% atribuye los esguinces al uso inadecuado de calzado deportivo, el 25% a fatiga y debilidad muscular. Además, el 83% tuvo un esguince más de 1 año. Los principales tratamientos recibidos: 48.9% medicación antiinflamatoria, el 28.9% con presión y 22.2% con reposo y protección. El 64% consideró que la fisioterapia fue totalmente efectiva, mientras que el 36% la consideró efectiva en cierta medida. El 100% de los encuestados indicó que la Federación Deportiva de Los Ríos proporciona servicios médicos y fisioterapeutas. Cómo conclusión los esguinces de tobillo debido a su alta incidencia requieren especial cuidado, el uso inadecuado de calzado deportivo fatiga muscular se identificaron como los principales factores de riesgos, es necesario implementar prácticas preventivas enfocadas en estos aspectos. La implementación de fisioterapia es de gran utilidad para un adecuado proceso de recuperación.es_ES
