Obesity is one of the biggest problems that concerns public health since it is a non-communicable disease that triggers various diseases. Morbid obesity is the most serious form of overweight. It is called morbid because the excessive weight suffered by the person causes health problems and reduces their life expectancy. This type of obesity is associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and some types of cancer. A person is considered to be morbidly obese if they are at least 50 kilograms over their ideal weight or have a BMI (Body Mass Index) greater than 40 kg/m2. In this clinical case, the clinical history of a male patient who arrives for a medical appointment with the cardiologist and was admitted to the hospital for cardiac problems is written. The main objective is to guarantee that the patient achieves optimal weight loss through the nutritional care process and in this way continue to avoid further complications in their health. In the development, the nutritional assessment is carried out on the patient, using the different existing methods that are anthropometric, clinical, dietary and biochemical, thus establishing a nutritional diagnosis, for which a low-calorie, low-sodium diet was established, with water restriction of 500cc.es_ES
