| dc.description | The present research work was carried out in 44 productive units located in the Baba canton, province of Los Ríos with the objective of determining the economic losses and incidence due to bovine mastitis, the sample size was 305 cows, for tabulation for data, the chi square method and degree of freedom were used. As a percentage of incidence of subclinical and clinical mastitis, we have the Baba canton as one of the sectors with the highest percentage belonging to 22.5% clinical and 26.92% to subclinical, having a total of 49.42% presence of this disease, the remaining 50.68% It belongs to the farms around the Baba canton where the study was carried out. As a prevalence for positive cases, we have 75.74% and for negative cases 24.26%, which is equivalent to 100% of the total sample, referring to economic losses we use García's method on which we based the study of the positive sampled cases which belong to clinical and subclinical mastitis with a number of 231 cows in which a percentage of 14.25% was obtained which is equivalent to an economic loss of $127.05 | es_ES |

| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en 44 unidades productivas ubicadas en el cantón Baba provincia de los Ríos con el objetivo de determinar las pérdidas económicas e incidencia a causa de la mastitis bovina, el tamaño de la muestra fue de 305 vacas, para la tabulación de datos se utilizó el método de chi cuadrado y grado de libertad. Como porcentaje de incidencia a mastitis subclínica y clínica tenemos a al cantón Baba como uno de los sectores con mayor porcentaje perteneciente a 22,5% clínica y 26.92% a subclínica teniendo un total de 49.42% de presencia de esta enfermedad, el 50.68% restante es perteneciente a las fincas de los alrededores del cantón Baba donde se realizó el estudio. Como prevalencia para los casos positivos tenemos un 75,74% y para los casos negativos un 24.26%, lo cual equivale al 100% de la muestra total, refiriéndonos a las pérdidas económicas usamos el método de García en el que nos basamos en el estudio de los casos muestreados positivos los cuales pertenecen a mastitis clínica y subclínica con un numero de 231 vacas en el que se obtuvo un porcentaje del 14.25% el cual equivale a una pérdida económica de $127.05 | es_ES |
