Brucellosis is an infectious disease caused by a facultative bacteria of the Brucella genus distributed worldwide that generates great economic losses due to contagion in production for zootechnical purposes. It is also a great problem for human health due to its zoonotic characteristic. In this work, the objective was to evaluate the seroprevalence of Brucella suis in pig farms in the province of Los Ríos, in which (n = 269) pigs were sampled, taking blood from the jugular vein and placing it in a vacutainer tube to centrifuge and separate the serum, to carry out the Rose Bengal sieve test, in different farms in the Baba, Babahoyo, Pueblo Viejo, Palenque, Vinces, Quevedo cantons. The population of interest were pigs intended for reproduction, (n=202) multiparous females, (n=46) pigs or replacement and (n=21) breeders of different breeds, in addition to classifying by type of reproduction, (n=123). artificial insemination and (n=80) natural mating. Since Brucellosis is a disease whose clinical sign is abortion as the main cause, that is the importance of choosing this specific population. The diagnostic tests were carried out in the phytopathology laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo, 30 ul of Rose Bengal antigen and 30 ul of the serum to be diagnosed were used, waiting 4 minutes making circular movements afterwards. Reading the diagnosis with indirect light, in 100% of the cases proposed in this investigation, seronegativity to Brucella suis was obtained.es_ES
