The present research work was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of alfalfa meal (medicago sativa) as an additive in the feeding of broilers, the investigation was carried out in a poultry production of the Ventanas canton belonging to the province of Los Ríos, 84 broilers distributed in four treatments with 3 repetitions were used in order to demonstrate the main characteristics of Alfarina in the productive parameters of broilers. It should be noted that Alfalfa is a legume that has been widely used in livestock production because it is rich in protein and high in fiber, which facilitates its absorption as it is ruminant or polygastric animals, unlike broilers. that have only one stomach, so to implement Alfalfa in the diet of broilers, it is purchased in the form of Alfarina or Alfalfa Meal in which fiber levels are lowered by dehydration and can be administered to the birds in small numbers. The treatments were evaluated as follows, being T0 the control treatment that only contained balanced food, treatment T1 that contained balanced food + 5% Alfarina, treatment T2 that contained balanced food + 10% Alfarina, treatment T3 that contained balanced food + 15 %Alfarina. The experimental design used for the statistical analysis was a completely randomized design. The levels of alfalfa meal used did not influence the final live weight, feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion were different in each week and in each treatment.es_ES
