Pregnancy is a physiological process that takes place between conception and delivery, therefore, the care provided to pregnant women must be based on care for their normal development, the use of appropriate technology and recognition of the important role that the woman herself in making decisions that may affect her. (MSP, 2015). Preterm birth is one that occurs before 37 weeks of gestation and is the main cause of morbidity and mortality of the newborn and is also one of the causes of maternal mortality with an incidence of premature births that varies among all countries. With a rate of approximately 5% to 13%. According to the World Health Organization (2022), every year 15 million premature children are born worldwide, of which one million do not survive. This fact must be associated with at least one of the following circumstances: progressive modification of the cervix and cervical dilation >2 cm and >80% effacement. There are several multifactorial causes that trigger preterm labor, but one of the most accepted is the inflammatory cause. The objective of this case study is the application of the nursing care process, since this is a scientific method in nursing care practice, which allows care to be provided in a rational, logical and systematic way. Obtaining the improvement of the patient by behaving collaboratively, which provided nursing care in a timely manner, giving her hospital discharge.es_ES
