dc.descriptionThe use of electronic equipment has allowed students to interact with the world, developing new attitudes; however, the excessive use of technological equipment, despite its great benefits, can cause visual health problems. The objective is to identify the incidence of ametropia and its relationship with the use of electronic equipment in high school students of the City of Valencia Educational Unit during the period of December 2022-April 2023. Respondents have a cell phone 100%, computer 85% other equipment 82.5%, also use the cell phone more than 5 hours 60% the computer between 1 to 3 hours 47.5%. The main symptom that students present after using electronic equipment for several hours is with 63.9% followed by itching with 59.6%, 58.6% of symptoms of excessive blinking and photophobia with 54.3%, in addition to performing the optometric check-ups it was detected 32.5% of students present myopia, 16.1% with hyperopia, 13.6% with astigmatism, this is caused by the lack of culture of care for visual health. When the clinical record was carried out, it did detect a high incidence of ametropia that has not been treated, the main one being myopia. This is caused because parents only go to health professionals when the cases are really urgent.es_ES

dc.description.abstractEl uso de equipos electrónicos ha permitido a los estudiantes interactuar con el mundo desarrollando nuevas actitudes sin embargo el uso excesivo de equipos tecnológicos a pesar de sus grandes beneficios puede generar problemas en la salud visual. El objetivo es identificar la incidencia de ametropías y su relación con el uso de equipos electrónicos en los estudiantes de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Ciudad de Valencia durante el periodo de diciembre de 2022 abril de 2023. Los encuestados cuentan con celular 100% , computadora 85% otros equipos 82.5%, además usan el equipo celular más de 5 horas el 60% la computadora entre 1 a 3 horas 47.5%. El principal síntoma que presentan los estudiantes después utilizar varias horas los equipos electrónicos es con un 63.9% seguidos por el picor con un 59.6%, 58.6% de síntomas de parpadeo excesivo y fotofobia con un 54.3%, además al realizar los chequeos optométricos se detectó un 32,5% de estudiantes que presentan miopía, 16.1% con hipermetropía, un 13,6% con astigmatismo, esto es causado por la falta de cultura de cuidado a la salud visual. Al realizarse les la ficha clínica sí detectó una alta incidencia de ametropías que no han sido tratadas siendo la principal la miopía. Esto es causado porque los padres sólo acuden a profesionales de la salud cuando los casos son realmente urgentes.es_ES
